This Agreement was superseded by the Environmental Protocol to the Antarctic Treaty, concluded in Madrid in 1991 (14/01/1998). This Protocol provides for a mining ban in Antarctica, which was also the objective of the CRAMRA treaty. [0517204]
This instrument has been superseded by the 1998 Environmental Protocol to the Antarctic Treaty (Madrid Protocol). Though it has been signed by 19 States it has been ratified by none. Entry into force of this instrument is not expected to occur.
